Social Services

Lighthouse of Central Florida

Orlando FL

Strategy   Capacity

Lighthouse of Central Florida is a large, multifaceted organization that is a leader in the field of services to the visually impaired. In splitting off its traditional social service components from its emerging social enterprise ventures, Lighthouse asked Synthesis Partnership to advise its strategic and business planning process and to facilitate a board retreat. We worked with the executive director and the internal manager of the planning process to provide most of our guidance remotely, through email and phone conferences.

SMART Team / Justice Resource Institute

Boston MA

Strategy   Identity   Capacity

SMART Team, a division of the Justice Resource Institute, provides positive transitions for court-involved, homeless, and traumatized youth, 13-24 years old. Within the social innovators program of the Social Innovation Forum, Synthesis Partnership worked with the Smart Team to create a clear description of its work, a metrics-based growth strategy, and a compelling case for support.

Crossroads Rhode Island

Providence RI

Strategy   Capacity   Facilities

Travelers Aid of Rhode Island (which subsequently changed its name to Crossroads) came to Synthesis Partnership to discuss initiating a strategic planning process. Soon after a change in leadership, the organization was presented with the opportunity and resources to move to new, larger and better quarters. We facilitated discussion of strategic, program and funding issues, and guided the organization through facility assessment, programming and budgeting, and selection of an architect.
